I just finished teaching a 3-week summer film workshop in association with Looking Glass Arts. The workshop took a group of high school filmmakers and actors through a full production process: writing to storyboarding to shooting+ lighting to editing and scoring.
Everyone involved is pretty amazing - especially the student filmmakers who are an amazingly bright, talented, creative group of people.
Through and through, they made some wonderful short films. I loved working with them and hope they all stay in touch.
For anyone in the Boulder/Denver area who might be interested in future workshops, check out Looking Glass Arts’ website: lookingglassarts.org
Below is a short sync-a-long we shot on the last day of class. Enjoy!

Thanks to our good friend Brit Horvat, this week over at yourhub.com they printed a silly little article I wrote about the production of Lowered Expectations and its conception. Through a magical and tortuous route, it eventually found its way to the cover of the yourhub section of both the Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News this week. If you’d like to read it, I’m including the article below - or, for the purists amongst you, you can read it in its original setting
